The advantages of being a Silver or Gold member are clear. Here are the ways you can easily be upgraded to this elite group.

Qualifying for Silver and Gold membership
You have an ample 12 months, from the date of your first transaction on your account, to aim for Elite Qualification. You will be pleased to know that travelling Business and First Class help you get there sooner. However, miles earned through partners and by family nominees do not qualify.

You can qualify for Silver in 2 ways:

1. By earning at least 25,000 miles through flying within 12 months OR
2. By flying at least 20 segments within 12 months.

For Gold, qualification is as follows:

1. By earning at least 50,000 miles through flying within 12 months OR
2. By flying at least 40 segments within 12 months.

Your new card, signifying your upgraded status, will be sent to you within 4 weeks once we have registered your qualifying transaction.

Re-qualifying for Silver and Gold membership
To retain your Silver status, simply earn 25,000 miles or fly 20 segments within the next year. For Gold, the criteria is 50,000 miles or 40 segments.

There is no expiry date for Blue cards – keep using yours until you collect enough miles to be upgraded.
